Posit Connect (Shiny Server)
Posit Connect is a platform for publishing your R and Python work on the web at https://rsc.stat.washington.edu.
Share Shiny applications, R Markdown reports, Plumber APIs, dashboards, Jupyter Notebooks, interactive Python content, and more.
Publishing access is open to anyone with a Statistics Computing Account
Apps can be developed and published using Statistics' Workbench Server
Read the Posit Connect User Guide to get started.

Restricting Share Access
There are four access levels for sharing applications:
- Open to anyone
- Limited to the UW community by requiring a NetID login
- Limited to specific UW group
- Limited to individual UW users
Group Access
Access can be limited to a group of UW users. This is best for:
- Managing student access for a course
- Managing large numbers of users
- Granting access to users before they log in to Posit Connect (see note below in "Individual Access")
- Using an existing UW group (https://groups.uw.edu/) to manage access
Email help@stat.washington.edu to get started with group access.
Individual Access
- Use Specific Users & Groups to select individual UW users to share access with.
- Posit Connect is only aware of individual users that have logged in previously to Posit Connect. To give access to users before they log in, see Group Access.
Custom URLs
By default, Posit Connect applications are published without meaningful URLs. You can request a custom URL for your application by emailing help@stat.washington.edu, for example https://rsc.stat.washington.edu/yourapp.
URLs are only available under the rcs.stat.washington.edu
domain name.
