Madrid Linux Server
madrid.stat.washington.edu is a general purpose Linux server available to anyone with a Statistics Computing Account. It can be used general purpose computing, and running tasks with low computational requirements (i.e. up to processes in parallel, running for less than a day). More demanding tasks should be run on the Cluster.
Accessing the Madrids
Connect by SSH to madrid.stat.washington.edu
. For details on using SSH, see Using SSH. Off-campus access does not require a VPN connection.
File Storage & Transfer
The Madrid home directories can be accessed by SFTP. For details on transferring files to your Madrid home directory see Transferring Files with SFTP
Software Available
In addition to all the standard utilities included with Ubuntu 20.04, these packages are available:
- MATLAB
- Python
- SciPy
- Anaconda
- R
- Julia
These packages need to be loaded using the environment module system that is used on the cluster. For details, see Environment Modules.
